Position: MEAL Coordinator
The MEAL Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of the project's comprehensive Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) system. This role involves spearheading the collection, analysis, and application of program data to guide strategic decision-making and refine the MEAL framework. The MEAL Coordinator plays a crucial role in systematically tracking, evaluating, and enhancing all programs and projects to maximize their effectiveness and impact on the organization’s objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
MEAL System Design and Management:
Develop, implement, and oversee the comprehensive Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) system for Tamer Institute.
Design and deploy various assessment tools, including those tailored for children and youth, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Lead the execution of baseline and end-line surveys, focus groups, and other data collection methods to assess program impact.
- Supervise data collection processes managed by implementing partners, ensuring accuracy through systematic verifications.
- Analyze data and prepare comprehensive reports for internal stakeholders, donors, and community partners, providing actionable insights to guide strategic decisions.
Reporting and Accountability:
- Prepare and present detailed M&E reports as required by project agreements, adhering to Tamer Institute’s reporting standards.
- Manage and refine accountability mechanisms to capture and address beneficiary feedback, incorporating child-friendly approaches where necessary.
Technical Support and Recommendations:
- Offer expert guidance on M&E methodologies and practices, providing evidence-based recommendations to enhance program effectiveness and impact.
Database Management and Field Monitoring:
- Oversee the management of databases to track beneficiaries, project indicators, and overall progress.
- Conduct regular field visits and quality assurance checks to monitor program implementation and adherence to established standards.
Documentation and Learning:
- Document and disseminate lessons learned, best practices, and success stories to promote a culture of continuous improvement within Tamer Institute.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of M&E systems and methodologies pertinent to educational and community development contexts.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in M&E, preferably within non-profit or educational sectors.
- Proven expertise in both qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, including the development of child-friendly assessment tools.
- Experience managing donor-funded projects and adhering to reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in data management, analysis, and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS), with exceptional bilingual communication skills in English and Arabic.
- Familiarity with child safeguarding and protection programs in crisis or post-crisis settings is advantageous.
