MEAL Coordinator – National- Gaza 08-2024

Location: Gaza

Role Overview: The MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) Coordinator will lead MEAL activities for emergency projects in Gaza. This role is critical for ensuring effective program monitoring, accountability, and continuous learning during crises. The coordinator will work closely with program teams and stakeholders to maintain high data standards and drive impactful interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and Evaluation:
• Develop and implement MEAL frameworks for emergency projects.
• Conduct field assessments to monitor progress and compliance.
• Analyze data to assess impact and recommend improvements.
• Prepare detailed evaluation reports for stakeholders.
• Accountability:
• Ensure projects meet international accountability standards.
• Set up and manage beneficiary feedback systems to address concerns.
• Coordinate resolution of feedback and complaints.
• Learning:
• Promote learning through workshops and sharing sessions.
• Distribute best practices, challenges, and innovative solutions.
• Capacity Building:
• Train staff and partners on MEAL techniques relevant to emergencies.
• Develop strategies to enhance MEAL skills within the team.
• Reporting and Documentation:
• Produce regular MEAL reports for donors and management.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with reporting standards.

• Coordination and Collaboration:
• Integrate MEAL into emergency project planning and execution.
• Engage with partners and stakeholders to ensure MEAL alignment.
• Represent the organization in relevant meetings and forums.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Monitoring and Evaluation, Social Sciences, Development Studies).
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years in MEAL roles, with experience in emergency settings or comparable professional experience
• Skills:
• Expertise in MEAL frameworks and emergency data management.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
• Experience in establishing and managing accountability systems.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office and data analysis tools.
• Personal Attributes: Resilient, adaptable, and able to work effectively under pressure.
• Language Skills: Arabic and working knowledge of written and spoken English
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in MEAL or emergency management are a plus.
• Legal: Ability to obtain a clean criminal background check.
