Project Overview:

Al Nayzak for Supportive Education & Scientific Innovation is part of the Basic Education Activity, that was recently awarded to the consortium led by Creative DC, and sub awarded to AlNayzak. AlNayzak will implement interventions under Intermediate Result 2 focusing on offering extracurricular activities and remedial education for children grades 1 through 6. Activities will include the following interventions: Science Fun Days, STEM/STEAM incubators, STEAM Summer/Winter Camps, Tinkering at the Science House, along with community based remedial education interventions. These interventions will be implemented in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Position over overeview:

The MEAL Officer for the BEA (Basic Education Activity) program will be responsible for implementing the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning framework to ensure the effective measurement and reporting of program results. The role involves coordinating data collection, analyzing program performance, and providing insights to improve program impact and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Quality and Analysis:

  • Support the implementation of data quality assurance procedures, ensuring accurate and reliable data collection from field activities.
  • Compile, process, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to assess project performance and inform decision-making.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Ensure regular documentation of MEAL activities, maintaining up-to-date electronic and hard-copy records of all MEAL tools, forms, and data.
  • Prepare and submit timely reports, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, including USAID rules and regulations.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure the timely submission of MEAL reports and plans, following up as needed.

Field Data Collection:

  • Conduct field visits to monitor project activities and collect primary data, ensuring that data is accurate and representative of project progress.
  • Support secondary data verification processes and triangulate data from multiple sources to ensure validity.

System Management:

  • Maintain and update MEAL databases and systems to ensure streamlined data entry, storage, and analysis processes.
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure proper use of data management software and tools, suggesting improvements where necessary.

Additional Tasks:

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Project Manager and provide support to the wider project team as needed.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and training workshops.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, statistics, development studies, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning in development or humanitarian projects, with a focus on USAID-funded programs preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills, including experience in data analysis and visualization.
  • Experience with data management software and platforms, such as Excel, SPSS, or other relevant tools.
  • Ability to conduct field visits in challenging environments and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills in both Arabic and English.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
