media- communication officer

is starting a project with building up a parent network for parents with children with intellectual disabilities. For this project we are seeking a media- communication officer to work part time for the project and part time for SOIR.
The media- communication officer will be based at SOIR’s office in Al Bireh, but will need to travel all over the West Bank. She/he will contribute to advocacy and awareness of rights to a dignified life, education, training, and work for persons with intellectual disabilities.
The successful candidate will:
• Draft press releases and other media materials and liaise with the media.
• Train parents networks how to develop awareness and lobby programmes
• Arrange meetings with authorities on different levels with the purpose of awareness, lobby activities, and advocating the rights of persons with intellectual disabilities.
• Work on awareness about the rights of persons with intellectual disabilities
• Write reports required by SOIR and PMRS
Qualifications:
• Relevant university degree
• Working experience with media and lobby activities
• English and Arabic languages (spoken and written)
• Ability to work in a team
