Position Overview:

Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC) is seeking a Media Officer (part-time) to contribute to our digital media strategy and strengthen our public communications. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator with a strong understanding of local and international sociopolitical dynamics, particularly those related to settler colonialism, food sovereignty, and grassroots peasant resilience in Palestine.
This position is part-time and ideal for someone who is looking to deepen their media practice in service of land-based struggle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement UAWC’s digital media strategy across platforms (website, Instagram, X/Twitter, Facebook)
• Create engaging content (graphics, reels, short videos, photos, captions, stories) in English and Arabic
• Document fieldwork through photography, videography, and testimonies with Palestinian farmers, herders, fisher people, and rural communities
• Produce UAWC’s regular email newsletter
• Support campaign-based communications and solidarity mobilizations
• Monitor relevant media coverage related to Palestinian agriculture, land, and food systems
• Coordinate with international advocacy team and support production of joint media toolkits, statements, and publications.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in digital communications, media production, or journalism.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.
• Fluency in English and Arabic (written and verbal).
• Ability to create original content (photo/video/design) and use relevant editing tools (e.g., Adobe Suite, Canva, CapCut).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
• Strong awareness of the Palestinian context, settler colonialism, and international solidarity struggles.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team and with external partners.
• Willingness to travel within the West Bank to document fieldwork and meet with communities.
• Alignment with UAWC’s mission and values.


Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with international solidarity organizing or advocacy work.
• Experience working with social movements or grassroots organizations.
• Background in documentary storytelling or media archiving.
• Strong understanding of digital security and best practices.
