BACKGROUND

Youth Without Borders is a non-profit organization based in Gaza Strip that has been operating in Palestine since 2002. YWB is dedicated to building/developing capacities, and inclusive community practices for youth from different backgrounds, ethics, locations, and perspectives. YWB is committed to enhancing the opportunities for both genders to get the needed skills that contribute to creating innovative ideas. 

The youth innovation hub is the first multisectoral inclusive hub serving the marginalized youth in the southern area of the Gaza Strip, established in 2021, powered by the Youth Without Borders Forum. Our main goal is to inspire youth to unleash their innovative ideas and inspire creativity. Y-HUB is providing continuous support for the Palestinian youth to develop their skills and capacities through implementing various types of programs, activities and clubs, to gain economic autonomy, building their 21-Cenurty skills and facilitate the transition to enhance their employability chances and acquire business, IT, entrepreneurship competencies and eco-friendly practices, besides encouraging their active participation in building community-driven interventions.


ABOUT THE POSITION

  • The Media Producer will play a vital role in the media unit of the Youth Innovation HUB, working towards shedding light on youth and community issues through interactive digital products. The primary objective of this position is to maximize the visibility of the project and participants' achievements, raising awareness of the project and youth issues. The Media Producer will be responsible for the development of audio-visual success stories and promotional content about the innovation hub. Additionally, this role will involve offering audio-visual content production services to external stakeholders, including civil society and the private sector, for a fee. The Media Producer will collaborate with various teams and stakeholders to ensure the success and sustainability of the media unit.

SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Content Development: Conceptualize, plan, and produce high-quality audio-visual content, including success stories, promotional videos, documentaries, and other relevant multimedia materials that showcase the accomplishments of the Youth Innovation HUB and highlight youth and community issues.
  • Professional Experience and Equipment Familiarity: The candidate should have a minimum of 3 years' experience using professional-grade equipment, including but not limited to cameras, audio equipment, lighting gear, gimbals/stabilizers, and various software, provided by the Youth Innovation HUB studio.
  • Storytelling: Utilize storytelling techniques and your experience with platforms such as Adobe Creative Suite to effectively communicate complex ideas and messages through audio-visual content, ensuring they resonate with the target audience and create a lasting impact.
  • Production Management: Oversee the entire production process, including pre-production planning, scriptwriting, shooting, editing, sound design, and post-production, ensuring the timely delivery of engaging and visually appealing content.
  • Collaborative Approach: Work closely with the Youth Innovation HUB team, project participants, and external stakeholders to identify compelling stories and projects that align with the organization's objectives and initiatives.
  • Content Strategy: Contribute to the development of a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with the media unit's goals and objectives, ensuring consistent messaging and branding across all audio-visual materials.
  • Stakeholder and Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including clients, civil society organizations, and the private sector. Offer audio-visual content production services to support their events and activities, adhering to agreed timelines and deliverables. Foster long-term relationships, ensuring client satisfaction and contributing to the business marketing of the studio
  • Technical Proficiency: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in media production technologies, software, and equipment, implementing best practices to enhance the quality and effectiveness of produced content.
  • Budget Management: Collaborate with the media unit's leadership to develop and manage budgets for individual projects, ensuring cost-effective production without compromising on quality.
  • Performance Evaluation: Monitor the effectiveness of produced content through analytics and feedback, making data-driven improvements to optimize engagement and impact.
  • Compliance and Ethical Standards: Adhere to legal and ethical guidelines related to media production, including copyright laws, intellectual property rights, and privacy regulations.
  • Language Proficiency: Good proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required for effective communication within the team and with the target audience.
  • Commitment for 24 hours per week.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor's degree in Media Studies, Film Production, Journalism, Communications, or a related field. A relevant master's degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience in media production, including scriptwriting, shooting, editing, and post-production techniques.
  • Proficiency in using industry-standard audio-visual production software and equipment.
  • Strong storytelling skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas through compelling narratives.
  • Excellent project management abilities, with a track record of successfully delivering multimedia projects on time and within budget.
  • Knowledge of digital media platforms, trends, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with youth and community issues and an understanding of their significance.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical practices and compliance with legal and industry standards.
