Caritas Jerusalem (CJ), a humanitarian and development organization representing the socio-pastoral services of the Catholic Church in the Holy Land, is currently seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Medical Consultant
Contract Period: 12 months with the possibility of extension(s)
Location: Caritas Taybeh Medical Center
Taybeh Village, Ramallah Governorate
Status: Part-Time

Position Purpose:
As a Medical Consultant, it is a vital role in supporting health projects through medical insights, monitoring implementation, and contributing to reports. Your responsibilities encompass ensuring professional practices, adherence to protocols, overseeing pharmacy operations, adapting the SPSS system for data analysis, and supporting project coordinators in incorporating technical medical aspects into donor reports. Your expertise is crucial for maintaining top-tier healthcare standards at Caritas Jerusalem in the West Bank.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Technical Medical Consultant:
- Support the health department when designing health projects, by providing medical statistics, technical medical information, primary health data, and writing objectives/impacts/indicators.
- Monitoring the health projects by ensuring that the implementation of the project is within the designed proposal.
- Writing a monthly report about the flow of the projects, and clinic and delivering recommendations when needed.
- Support the project coordinators in the technical medical part when writing donor reports.
- Follow up on MEAL reports for projects.
- Professional supervision of all medical and paramedical staff to ensure that:
- The medical and paramedical staff of Caritas Jerusalem in the West Bank abide by safe, ethical, and professional practices in all clinic and medical outreach work.
- They abide by WHO and local MOH protocols and procedures.
- They observe a high standard of infection control and medical waste disposal.
- Supervision of the pharmacy
- Oversight of the work of the pharmacist regarding storage, expiry dates, and management of medicine and medical supplies.
- Liaising with the team concerning medicines to be purchased.
- Supervision of all clinic and Project Data
- Adapting the SPSS System or any designated statistical system for each project, training, and supervising Data Entry personnel in its use.
- Data analysis for reports or other needs as requested.

Job Requirements:
- Master’s / PhD in Medicine, Public Health, or any related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a related position.
- Experience working with NGOs is highly desirable.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
- Ability to work quickly, under pressure, and with short deadlines.
- Ability to manage emergencies and remain calm.
- It is necessary to manage priorities and to adapt them daily according to the context.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and environment.
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Ability to listen and share decisions.
- Alignment with principles and ethics of Caritas Jerusalem.
- Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English and Arabic.
- A resident of Ramallah/Bethlehem Governorates.
- Computer literacy: fluent knowledge of Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
