Medical Director Vacancy
The St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group is formed of three hospitals, two clinics and a mobile outreach service. It employs more than 30 doctors, and operates on a hub and spoke model with Jerusalem at its center. Its chief objective is to provide high-quality ophthalmic care to the local population.
The post of Medical Director is based in East Jerusalem; the other geographical locations served by the Hospital Group include Hebron, Anabta, Gaza and the outreach unit(s), which provide mobile care to villages and communities throughout the Occupied Palestinian Territories. As a Medical Director, the successful candidate will demonstrate good organisational and leadership skills and, in collaboration with the CEO, Chairman and Board of the Hospital Group, effectively promote and develop high-quality clinical services, research and ophthalmic training across the Hospital’s operational units.

Key elements of the post include; take full responsibility of the Hospital medical license, developing the Hospital’s postgraduate ophthalmic training program, overseeing and promoting regular regional teaching and education, and supporting the research program with regional and international partners. The post holder is expected to work closely with the CEO and regional and international medical bodies to achieve these strategic goals. The candidate should possess excellent communication skills in both Arabic and English languages.
