Medical Support Officer
MSF Spain is looking for a skilled MEDICAL SUPPORT OFFICER (Project Coordinator Support) in Gaza to help us provide quality service to our beneficiaries. This position is a great opportunity for you to gain experience in the humanitarian sector and develop your skills. You will also be an important member of our team focusing on medical and mental health assistance to population.
You will be working in our Gaza Office and also you will be helping our team members to providing support to the Coordinator in Gaza project, ensuring a smooth and solid relation with local and national authorities/institutions or, if necessary, with other stakeholders and actors. Carrying out analysis focused on medical humanitarian context actions, hospital and health center environment. Accomplish a follow-up of meetings and negotiations. Ensure MSF protocols and procedures to ensure the adequation of the project once we are doing activities or trainings.

Job Description
- Participating actively in reflections and discussions on the evolution of MSF programs in the project, contributing with his/her medical background and experience to the improvement of overall performance, adapting it to the changing reality and context.
- Supporting project development by answering medical questions from the field. Preparing and conducting context, cultural and procedure briefings on the project context to new employees (national and international) to facilitate their integration and within the project environment.
- In coordination with the medical team assisting when needed with the implementation of MSF protocols and para-medical standards.
- Experience working in Gaza, and existing professional networks within different stakeholders in Gaza organizations and civil society actors.
- Demonstrated knowledge of gender inclusion principles, human rights, and equitable approaches.
- Strong interpersonal communication, presentation, teamwork, and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and oral English and Arabic language and communication skills with a variety of audiences including other NGOs, government entities, the public and the media.
- Ability to think innovatively.
- Experience contributing to effective curriculum planning, design, adaptation, and development.
- Experience in project design, project management, and training and capacity building.

- Operational side:
- Representing MSF externally together with the Project Coordinator (PC) or alone (when delegated) and negotiating on behalf of the Project Coordinator in close cooperation with the Project coordinator and based on beforehand agreed messaging. Assisting in safeguarding and promoting MSF’s image externally
- Monitors and communicates in a timely manner if any information that could impact MSF programs.
- Participating in the collection of medical information and analysis (meetings, reports, articles, data from MSF operations etc.)
- To maintain a comprehensive record of medical interventions, including both medical and mental health interventions.
- Surveillance of project area and identification of new opportunities for MSF intervention: will be responsible for conducting regular surveillance of the project area, monitoring the healthcare landscape, and identifying potential gaps and emerging needs.
- Transversal support to medical, paramedical, mental health, and operational staff, during internal and external discussions and meetings: to provide essential transversal support to various staff members and programs within the project.
- Humanitarian context follow-up and detecting humanitarian gaps: closely monitoring the evolving humanitarian context, emerging challenges.
- Assisting the Project Coordinator in Internal and External Communication sessions and events about MSF (for National staff, the Ministry of Health staff, as well as local authorities, community leader, local actors,) to improve awareness, understanding of MSF principles and services and public opinion adhesion. Write meeting minutes and contribute to the meeting logbook.
- Ensuring the continuity of relations/networking with local actors (other NGOs, in collaboration with Project Coordinator UN agencies, local authorities, media, etc.) and filing and updating field contacts and correspondence in order to ensure information sources accuracy and its availability on regular basis. - Being reachable by phone and available to assist the Project Coordinator if context and operational needs require even outside of regular working hours

CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Degree in Medicine or Nursing
- 2 - 3 years experience minimum in a medical project in mid level position. Desirable in Hospital, public health, or primary health center.
- Knowledge about hospital and health work environments is essential.
- Experience at least 1 year working in Gaza as graduate and certified healthcare professional.
- Feature networks and portfolios about different stakeholders, organizations, and civil society actors
- Demonstrated knowledge of gender inclusion principles, human rights, and equitable approaches.
- Strong interpersonal communication, public presentation skills, teamwork, and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and oral English and Arabic language and communication skills with a variety of audiences including NGOs, government entities, the public and the media. Fluent English level is mandatory for this position.
- Experience contributing to effective curriculum planning, design, adaptation, and development.
- Experience in project design, project management, and training and capacity building.
- Strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure under pressure, prioritize work, coordinate multiple tasks, and maintain attention to detail.
