Youth Programs Manager - Full time (1 Year, with possibility of extension)
Program Department Summary:
Mercy Corps’ Global Youth Connectivity program exists to educate and engage young people across boundaries to build a coalition of global citizens capable of and responsible for building secure, productive and just communities around the world. Mercy Corps other youth program goal is mainly focused on Palestinian Youth Advocacy for Equity and Employment..
General Position Summary and Responsibilities:
The Program Manager for Gaza Youth Programs will manage all youth projects in MC office, in Gaza supervise staff and solve programmatic issues and challenges in Gaza. S/he will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of youth programming are executed in alignment with their respective grant agreements. S/he will ensure that objective are being met, and will help develop and coordinate the program’s efforts to measure impact through performance management/monitoring and evaluation mechanisms and provide timely information to donors, and HQ. S/he will be responsible for identifying opportunities for future funding, writing proposals.
Qualifications:
1. This position requires an MA/S or equivalence in International Development or at least At least 5 years of relevant experience in management of youth programs.
2. Proven success managing the administration and compliance of donor funding
3. Experience with emergency youth response programs
4. At least 5 years of experience in designing and implementing broad and diverse youth programs with focus on local youth community activism, global youth engagement, youth advocacy skills and youth employment actions.
5. Excellent English writing and speaking skills. Excellent Arabic written, spoken.
6. Effective verbal and written communication, multi-tasking, organizational, and
prioritization skills are necessary.
7. Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members is required.
