Mercy Corps, an international non-governmental relief and developmentagency, is currently expanding activities in the Gaza strip and is recruiting project staff for our office in Gaza.
Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (12 months renewable)
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee the monitoring and evaluation efforts for all Gaza operations
- Manage and supervise the M&E assistant and lead a team of field monitors
- Ensure the timely implementation of the M&E plan
- Lead the data collection processes ensuring high accuracy of the collected data
- Analyse results and produce reports – narrative and tabularised
- Support the development of new activities
- Liaise with the organisation’s M&E community to share best practices
Requirements:
- M.A. or higher in the field of social science with a focus on statistics
- Solid knowledge of statistical software, especially SPSS
- Experience working for international humanitarian organisations
- Strong analytical skills (qualitative and quantitative), report writing skills,
excellent English
- Willingness to work plenty of overtime
Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant (6 months renewable)
Main Responsibilities:
- Work under the direct supervision of the M&E Officer to support all ongoing monitoring efforts
- Data entry, data cleaning and data analysis
- Coordinating data collection and assessment efforts
Requirements:
- Degree in social science or related field, work experience in M&E
- At ease with statistical programmes, especially SPSS
- Strong analytical skills (qualitative and quantitative), report writing skills, excellent English
