Position: MHPSS Specialist 

Type: Full-time, On-site 

Location: West Bank, Palestine (Ramallah/Nablus) 

Salary: ₪3,752 - ₪5,628 / month 

Reporting to: Deputy Director WB Programmes 

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) is a leading UK charity dedicated to improving the health and dignity of Palestinians affected by conflict, occupation, and displacement. With a focus on the occupied Palestinian territory and Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, we provide vital health and medical care to those in need, particularly in crisis zones like Gaza. As part of our commitment to meeting the growing needs of the communities we serve, we're expanding our team. 

MAP is seeking an MHPSS Specialist who will be responsible for developing and implementing community-based MHPSS programs. Responsibilities include creating a plan for MHPSS topics, organizing group sessions, conducting individual sessions, and delivering Psychological First Aid (PFA) training. The role involves establishing communication with community members, referring complex cases to appropriate services, and documenting all cases and activities accurately. The MHPSS Specialist will ensure adherence to ethical standards regarding confidentiality and the protection of vulnerable populations while providing timely reports to donors and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate holds a relevant higher-level qualification in Psychology, Health, or a related field, with a valid license to provide MHPSS services in the oPt. Demonstrated experience in psychological support within a humanitarian context is essential, along with specific experience or training in children's and adolescents' mental health and psychosocial issues. The candidate should have experience providing training in community settings and familiarity with the regional context, demonstrating cultural sensitivity in mental health care. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Arabic,  are also required.
