Job Description
Position: Programme Assistant
The Ministry of Education and higher Education in cooperation with the Palestinian-Finnish Education Programme – PALFEP III, is seeking qualified candidates for a Full-Time Programme Assistant Post.
1-Location & Duration:
Programme Assistant will work in the General Directorate of Projects at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education under the general direction of the Team Leader and Local Programme Coordinator for 8 months.
2-Tasks description:
The Programme Assistant will be responsible for the tasks of the daily financial administration of PALFEP III, and assist in other issues related to the management of the programme.
Main Tasks and Duties:
-Follow up the programme action plans and budgets, and verify all payments to ensure that the
expenditures have been properly authorized and are included in the approved budget, and that the
budgets are not exceeded.
-Record all payments and budget allocations to the computer accounting programme and producing
all necessary reports and make the bank reconciliations.
-Prepare the monthly accounting documents and send them to the Home Office after approval of the
Local Programme Coordinator and the Team Leader
-Assist in the logistical arrangements related to preparing for meetings, workshops, study tours,
etc.
-Organize the payments and the financial documents, and maintain an effective archiving system for
financial documents and payments.
-Perform other duties as may be assigned by the TL/LPC.
3-Required profile:
-A university degree in finance or accounting or any related field.
-Proven practical experience in accounting.
-Experience with donor agencies.
-Has a good communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
-Good level of spoken and written English.
-Ability to use Microsoft package, Words, Excel, Access and others.
4-Reporting
Reporting through the LPC, to the Team Leader of the programme.
