Al-Quds Business Center for Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship (BCITE) seeks experienced and dynamic moderators to facilitate a pivotal focus group workshop titled "Exploring the Cooperative Landscape in Palestine: Challenges and Opportunities." This event aims to delve into the multifaceted nature of cooperatives in Palestine, uncovering their current state, inherent challenges, and prospective opportunities for growth and development. This focus group workshop is part of the Empowering Vulnerable Youth in Palestine through the Economic Resilience and Entrepreneurship project, implemented by Al-Quds University and the Belgian Development Agency, Enabel, and funded by the European Union.
About the Workshop:
This event is a concentrated effort to bring together a diverse group of individuals representing various cooperatives and startups across Palestine. Through structured discussions and collaborative sessions, the workshop is designed to:
- Provide a comprehensive understanding of the operational dynamics of cooperative startups in Palestine.
- Identify and dissect the core challenges these entities face, ranging from financial constraints and regulatory hurdles to market penetration and political influences.
- Explore the compatibility and adaptation of cooperative models within the unique Palestinian economic and cultural milieu.
- Encourage a culture of shared learning, collaboration, and networking among cooperative members, startups, local business experts, academics, and policymakers.
- Formulate actionable recommendations to reinforce and empower the cooperative sector in Palestine.
Responsibilities of the Moderator:
The moderator will be responsible for:
- Overseeing the workshop sessions, ensuring a smooth and productive flow of discussions.
- Facilitating engaging discussions based on the suggested questions and guiding the conversation to extract meaningful insights.
- Encouraging participation from all attendees and maintaining a balanced and inclusive dialogue.
- Synthesizing discussion points to aid in the formulation of concrete and practical recommendations for the betterment of cooperatives in Palestine.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience in moderating workshops or focus groups, preferably within economics, social sciences, or community development.
- Comprehensive understanding of the cooperative business model and its implications in the context of Palestine.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and manage group discussions effectively.
- Fluent in both English and Arabic.
