DanChurchAid (DCA) and East Jerusalem YMCA – Women’s Training Program (EJ YMCA-WTP)
is working together in a project funded by the European Commission Humanitarian Organisation (ECHO) to provide access to clean water and hygiene training for vulnerable communities East of Bethlehem. The project started 1st of July 2011. The project title is: “Improving the living conditions of the most vulnerable communities in the marginalized areas of Bethlehem by increasing the access to safe drinking water and hygiene”.

The project is recruiting a Monitoring and Information Officer for ongoing monitoring of the project,
especially of the quality of water provided through the project.
A Monitoring and Information Officer (MIO) will be contracted to work for 11 months to undertake ongoing monitoring of the water quality and project indicators. The MIO will be responsible for the following:

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Monitor the water quality of the cisterns rehabilitated in the previous project (101 cisterns) as well as in the cisterns rehabilitated in the current project (85 cisterns).
-Monitor the use of ceramic water filters in Bedouin households.
-Monitor and follow up on project indicators in close cooperation with DCA project coordinator.
-Develop and prepare monthly reports on OVIs.

Key Qualifications:
1-Have minimum a bachelor degree in relevant field (e.g. water engineering, water resources, environmental management…..)
2-Have experience with monitoring and evaluation of humanitarian projects.
3-Have excellent communication skills in (oral and written) Arabic and English.
4-Knowledge and work experience with Bedouins an advantage.
5-Have a strong personality, and have the ability to work under pressure.
6-Have good relations with the local communities.
