Role and responsibilities
This position supports the NRC Palestine Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) unit in implementing M&E Plans that includes data collection, data validation exercises and data analysis.
Generic responsibilities
- Adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines.
- Assist with the Implementation of M&E activities according to plan of action.
- Assist in preparation and development of status reports as required by management.
- Ensure proper filing of documents.
- Contribute to the country strategy process and the development of M&E strategy.
- Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, and explore and asses new and better ways to assist.
- Promote and share ideas for technical improvement.
- Contribute to implementation of Safe and Inclusive Programming Minimum Standards across the area of work.
Specific responsibilities
- Carry out field monitoring visits and follow-ups to monitor program quality.
- Support the MEL team in maintaining the MEL databases updated.
- Support in data management and development of clear information flow between program and MEL team
- Conducting KIIs, FGDs and Surveys as requested.
- Assist in developing data collection methodology and tools, and in actual data collection
- Assist program staff and M&E unit with data collection, data validation, data analysis and interpretation.
- Ensure that monitoring data are reported in a timely manner to relevant program and managerial staff.
- Assist in providing technical/training sessions for relevant NRC program staff in relation to M&E activities and tools, as needed.
- Support learning sessions with relevant NRC program staff in relation to M&E findings
- Assist with the implementation of other M&E activities.
- Undertake any other reasonable task assigned by management.
Generic professional competencies:
- Experience working in a humanitarian/recovery context
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts desirable
- Good analytical skills
- Proficient knowledge of Arabic
- Good organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic written and spoken English
Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:
- Minimum of 12 months experience in data collection and/or data analysis
- University degree in Engineering, business administration, or other related fields.
- Knowledge of different data collection methodologies
- Knowledge of mobile data collection tools is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of the software programs (MS Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Experience in qualitative and quantitative data collection, data analysis and validation such as Power BI is an advantage

Additional Information:
Contract duration: 7 months.
Working hours: 40 hours/week, Sun-Thu (5 days per week)
Salary/benefits: According to NRC’s salary scale and terms and conditions
Duty station: Gaza (open to Gaza strip residents only)
