Movement Cooperation Officer 2

The ICRC is an independent, neutral organization ensuring humanitarian protection and assistance for victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence. It takes action in response to emergencies and at the same time promotes respect for international humanitarian law and its implementation in national law.

The ICRC Sub-Delegation in Ramallah is seeking a candidate to fill the following position: 

Main responsibilities:

• Supports overall Cooperation relationship between the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS).
• Brings key operational cooperation issues/challenges and opportunities between ICRC and PRCS to the attention of the management and Cooperation department and recommendations on how to address them for way forward and follow up.
• Contributes to the elaboration of ICRC Cooperation objectives during the Planning for Results process reflecting Sub-delegation/Offices/Antennas needs.
• Contributes to implementation of overall cooperation objectives – elaborating a plan of action for the Sub-Delegation.
• Keeps Cooperation department updated on key Operational/Protection, Economic Security and other related developments – to enable coherent approach towards PRCS management at Headquarters.
• Undertakes a quarterly review of progress/barriers to achievement of Delegation-wide Cooperation objectives – focusing on operational cooperation dimension.
• Ensures regular communication with the PRCS counterparts and maintain systematic channel for information sharing between ICRC and PRCS structures.
• Conducts workshops on thematic operational cooperation activities according to identified operational needs.
• Deployable to support ICRC offices / PRCS structures during emergency situations when required.

Role Requirements

• University degree in social sciences, international / public relations, development, or any other relevant degree.
• Excellent command (spoken and written) of English and local language(s).
• 3-5 years' work experience in a field relevant to Movement /Project management.
• Valid driving License.
• Strong communication skills and ability to maintain good partnership relations and deal with a variety of contacts.
• Sense of responsibility, ability to supervise and manage, good negotiator.
• Willingness to work as part of a team and in a multicultural environment.
• Autonomy and organizational skills.
• Good capacity for analysing social, economic, political, humanitarian and security situations.
• Good command in IT tools.
• Knowledge of the dynamics within the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is an asset.
