The Position:Music Therapist – Peace worker
 
Description of responsibilities:

-Assess individual needs and interests,
-Contribute to the identification of the therapy objectives;
-Develop activities to meet the identified objectives;
-Conduct various forms of group and individual therapy;
-Evaluate and document individual and group response and progress;
-Work with different segments of the community;
-Assist in designing and planning for audio-visual music therapy training materials.
-Provide a nonthreatening, self- motivating experience to assist an individual in relating to the immediate environment, the self, and the community;
-Provide an atmosphere compatible to behavioral change, self-expression, and nonverbal and verbal communications.
-Develop a field monitoring plan based on agreed upon progress and target indicator sets
-Facilitate the implementation of regular and periodic programme evaluations.
-Undertake any other tasks as assigned by the Programme Management.
-Report to the Programme Management
 
 
 
Qualifications:
 
-A Bachelors Degree in Music Therapy; a Masters degree will be considered as a strong asset.
-At least 2-3 years of music therapy experience;
-Solid knowledge in conflict & gender sensitivity development approaches.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work in a team environment.
-good knowledge of civil peace service instruments
-experience within the region are desirable
-Excellent command of the English language with writing and communication skills;
-command of arab is an advantage

WFD is a non-governmental grassroots-organization that supports grassroots projects in Africa, Latin America and Palestine through strong partnerships based on solidarity and provides consultancy to its partners at all technical, administrative and financial levels.
Through its international partner projects, WFD engages in the fields of civil conflict management, human rights, women’s rights and economic development, education and training, and agricultural activities which preserve natural resources. WFD typically provides long-term consultancy to projects that seek to encourage victims of injustices to find ways to express the suffering they experienced and thus move towards healing through creative means.


Al Mada is an arts-based community development association, based in Palestine/Ramallah. Since 2009, The first music therapy center of its kind in Palestine was established by Al Mada. Its core philosophy is that every individual contributes towards making social changes and that the power of art and advocacy can be used to achieve sustainable development goals.
We have used the arts as the basis for programs designed to promote education, self-expression, empowerment and wellbeing.

Our programs encompass a variety of artistic media (music, dance, drama and visual arts) and, in cooperation with respective organizations, target a wide range of groups in the community. We regard the arts as a contributing factor to the sustained development of our community by empowering individuals and groups through artistic creative processes.

Our work is grounded in the belief that the arts provide a space and platform where individuals can express, create and heal. Further, we strive to promote music and the arts as powerful tools that individuals and groups can use to advocate for their concerns and rights.
