Duties and Responsibilities:
Within the framework of the Mehwar project, as part of Mehwar Policies and Procedures and with the aim to create a national reference for the recruitment of staff to be assigned to antiviolence centers in the oPt, the National Consultant will undertake the following main duties and responsibilities under the overall supervision of UNIFEM oPt Head of Office and the direct supervision of

UNIFEM Project Manager for Mehwar Project.
1-To work, throughout the assignment, in full cooperation and coordination with MoSA Focal Point for Mehwar Project (in Ramallah), with one representative of the international NGO providing technical assistance (in the West Bank and Jerusalem), and UNIFEM team assigned to the project (in Jerusalem);
2-To gather, harmonize and document all procedures and guidelines previously developed and implemented in relation to Mehwar staff recruitment;
3-To produce, from the above, clear standard procedures;
4-To develop an introductory chapter to the recruitment procedures explaining their objectives and approach, and highlighting the ad hoc professional requirements they intend to address;
5-To gather, harmonize and enrich all materials, previously developed and adopted, related to the implementation of Mehwar staff recruitment procedures;
6-To submit to UNIFEM, no later than one month after the beginning of the assignment, a first complete draft of the recruitment guidelines and procedures, for revision;
7-To prepare and submit to UNIFEM a final draft of the recruitment guidelines and procedures, including the required materials and incorporating UNIFEM's as well as project partners' feedback. All material will be produced in edited English.

Qualifications and Competencies:
BA in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Gender Studies.
3 - 5 years experience in projects related to violence against women.
Relevant experience in professional supervision and/or evaluation of personnel assigned to social services/projects, especially working with women/children victims of violence.
Excellent communication and writing skills in Arabic and in English.
