Main Duties and Responsibilities:
UNIFEM oPt implements, in partnership with the Palestinian Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA), a three-year project funded by the Government of Italy and aimed to support and strengthen the activity of Mehwar Center, a pilot, national, multipurpose center aiming to combat violence against women in the oPt.
Under the overall supervision of UNIFEM oPt Head of Office, in liaison with the UNIFEM Project Manager for Mehwar Project and under the direct supervision of MoSA, the National Focal Point will be responsible for the following main duties and responsibilities (complete ToR available upon request):

1. Coordinate, facilitate and monitor, on behalf of MoSA, the implementation of Mehwar project activities, as per agreed upon action plans, while ensuring continuative and effective partnership between UNIFEM and MoSA
2. Act as Secretariat of the Consultative Committee established by MoSA to support Mehwart at policy level
3. Facilitate discussion among MoSA staff on protection services and policies for women victims of violence
4. Liaise and ensure flow of communication between UNIFEM and MoSA regarding Mehwar project-related matters
5. Work in close coordination and cooperation with UNIFEM project team, with MoSA Director General for Family and Child Affairs, with Differenza Donna Local Technical Coordinator and with Mehwar Centre Director
6. Liaise between MoSA, UNIFEM, GOs and NGOs stakeholders that work on protection services and policies for women victims of violence
7. Document, analyze and report on lessons learned that might be useful for MoSA, UNIFEM or other stakeholders for institutional learning.

Qualifications and Competencies:
BA in Social Sciences, Law or development- related fields. 2-3 years experience in the areas of project coordination /liaison /public relation in projects related to psycho-social and educational themes.
Demonstrated knowledge of gender and human rights concepts, specific experience in VAW-related projects and/or services for the protection of women from violence is an asset. Excellent communication and writing skills in English and in Arabic. Understanding of project management frameworks and of basic project administration. Ability to work as part of a team, in partnership, and to perform independently. Understanding of national institutional frameworks is an asset.
