Germanys National Metrology Institute, the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) is with its
1,800 employees a global player in the world of metrology and engaged in many cooperation projects worldwide. In particular PTB’s International Technical Cooperation department is commissioned by the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) to implement projects in the field of Quality Infrastructure (QI) in developing countries and countries in transition. Supporting the Quality Infrastructure For the 3 years project “Supporting the national Quality Infrastructure in the Palestinian Territories” PTB is looking for a
 

to carry out administrative and representative tasks. The part-time job assignment is based in Ramallah and will start in November/December 2012.

Responsibilities and tasks:
-To support project implementation in close cooperation with the project coordinator in PTB’s Head Office in Braunschweig/Germany and the main project partner in Ramallah, the Palestine Standards Institution (PSI)
-To assist in the conceptional and logistic preparation of expert missions to Palestine
-To facilitate the cooperation with other donors and alignment of the PTB project to the activities of other donors (e.g. the European Commission and the GIZ)
-To organise workshops, conferences and seminars
-To represent the PTB project in meetings and events related to trade facilitation and quality infrastructure

Required qualifications:
-Master’s degree preferably in Economics, Development Politics, or Business Administration as well as a degree relevant to Quality Infrastructure
-At least ten years of working experience preferably in the field of quality management, standardisation, quality assurance and/or certification
-Preferably experience in project management within the context to international technical cooperation
-Excellent communication, organisation, presentation and writing skills in Arabic and English
-Sound computer skills (Microsoft Office, Internet)
-A pro-active attitude, flexibility and willingness to learn
