Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) Project
Women for Life Society (WfL) is an independent, non-profit Palestinian organization working in Salfit and Qalqilya provinces of the West Bank to eliminate violence against women, and empower women legally, socially, economically and politically.
Starting from 2013, Women for Life Society received a new fund from the French organization Première UrgenceInternationale (PUI) to implement a long-term program on “Women Economic Empowerment” (WEE), funded by the European Union (EuropeAid).
The aim of this project, implemented by Women for Life in partnership with PUI is to support the establishment and empowerment of 10 Community Based Organizations (CBOs) of the Northern West Bank, in Salfit and Qalqilya district, through raising knowledge, improving awareness and strengthening the employability and the entrepreneurship among women in 10 isolated villages; as well as developed a supportive environment for women’s socio-economic empowerment and well-being particularly through a national awareness raising campaign.
WfL is looking to recruit a Networking & Business Development Officer to contribute to the implementation of the WEE Project.
OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
The Networking & Business Development Officer, based in WfL office in Bedia, will be responsible for - but not limited - to ensure the proper implementation of the Economic activities related to the WEE project described under tasks description. This person is expected to follow up and coordinate with relevant stake holders and CBOs, NGOs, GOs, private sector in close cooperation with PUI team.
LINE MANAGER:
The Networking & Business Development Officer will be under the supervision of the WfL General Director, with a strong functional link with the PUI WEE Project Manager. Besides, (s)he will work in close collaboration with the PUI Business expert.
DETAILED TASKS DESCRIPTION:
Being the focal point between WFL and PUI teams regarding the implementation of all activities linked to Networking & Business Development:
--Support the implementation of the Market study – implemented by a group of consultant - related to job opportunities- Field visits preparation; Organization of meetings with relevant stakeholders; etc.
--Support the implementation of the professional tool kit activities which includes but not limited to the following:
- Coordinating with the consultant and the business expert the implementation of business trainings with the PTK beneficiaries
- Providing technical advices and support to the PTK beneficiaries for the creation of the business: Developing business plan; professional network; capacity building; regular monitoring. etc.
- Supporting the creation of a network of mentor for the beneficiaries
- Support the establishment of Regional Club
- Support the establishment of the Inter- Enterprise Forum
--Networking and coordination with different stakeholders in both Qalqilya and Salfit in close cooperation with the WfL and Business expert and WEE PM and relevant PUI departments.
--Close follow up and support for the implementation of women employability community based trainings in the nine targeted communities and ensuring the participation of women with disabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Bachelor degree preferably in the field of Business, Economics, Accountant, Business Administration, Social studies, Communication, Education, or related fields.
-Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience in related fields.
-Candidates who have previously worked as business development officer will be preferred.

-Excellent computer skills, in particular MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Project and Internet;
-Ability to work with various partners, in a spirit of openness, and with adaptable communications strategies;
-Good in written and spoken Arabic and English.
