as Programme Officer
The Royal Danish Representative Office in Ramallah wishes to recruit a National
Programme Officer on a full time basis for development cooperation in the West Bank and Gaza. The Danish priorities within development cooperation focus on local development, human rights and culture/civil society. The successful applicant will be required to participate in the planning, administration, assessment, implementation of development programmes within the field of local development, cultural activities and civil society projects as well as various other projects and tasks within the office portfolio on an ad hoc basis.
On this background, candidates with the following skills and qualifications are invited to apply for the post:
• Academic degree in economics, political science, social science or other relevant area

• Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic (communication as well as report writing in both languages))
• The ability to conceive, develop and implement development programmes, including programme analysis, conception of Logframe Analysis, conception and operational use of
indicators, programme and report conception and formulation
(Please provide short samples of development reports or other analytical material you may have written)
(Please explain what you see as the most crucial points for developing a successful development programme)
• The flair for implementing and administering development programmes, including good negotiation, communication and advocacy skills
(Please provide examples and references of successful development, advocacy or other related work experience and indicate why you believe you were successful in these endeavours)
• Ability to take initiatives, work effectively and efficiently in a results-oriented manner, plan and think ahead and quickly adapt to the changing circumstances
• The ability to fully take charge of the portfolio under your responsibility (“process manager”) and work independently as well as within a team and in a sometimes hectic and stressful environment
• Good IT skills: full familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), and similar applications.
A driver’s license and a satisfactory health certificate are required. Applicants shortlisted for interview should be prepared to present verified relevant documentation as well as names and contact details of references.

Also included should be your detailed CV, specifying educational background and professional experience.
