Bethlehem Care & Hospice Trust is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the following position:

Registered Nurse 

Overview:

Bethlehem Care & Hospice Trust is the first hospice care service in Bethlehem and surrounding area, which will care to acutely and critically ill patients in their own homes and support their families.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implements safe, competent, and efficient patient care within policies, procedures, standards, and interventions as noted in the multidisciplinary plan of care.
  • Assists in positioning and responding to the comfort/safety of the patient.
  • Record all care information concisely, accurately, and completely, on time.
  • Maintain proper supplies and appropriate medical equipment to care for patients.
  • Exhibit teamwork by collaborating with the nursing team to establish and attain common goals.
  • Set priorities adapting to changing patient situations.
  • Maintain nursing code of ethics and demonstrate positive professional attitude toward job for patient/visitor.
  • Participate and support performance improvement and initiate activities.
  • Demonstrates initiative in identifying and taking charge of new tasks; willingness to perform unassigned tasks when needed.
  • Communicate essential and appropriate information about a patients’ condition to the nurse coordinator.
  • Provide comfort and end-of-life care.
  • Complete assigned continuing education activities and training on time.
  • Perform other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting or delegation.

Job Requirements

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing is required.
  • Holds a license to practice the profession from the Nursing union and from the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
  • Priority for applicant’s form Bethlehem District.
  • Post graduate education in nursing is preferred.
  • Driving license is preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post graduate education in nursing is an advantage.
  • Palliative Care experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of (2) two years of experience is preferred.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Good command of English language.
  • Excellent use of computer software including in word processing, database management, and spreadsheet and computer skills is a must.
  • Ability to quickly learn and utilize a variety of software and systems.
  • Able to work as a part of a team under the supervision of the Nursing Coordinator.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals.
  • Ability to remain clear-headed and calm in a high-stress and fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and prioritize scheduling of work.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of all medical, financial, and legal information.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise creativity, be attentive to detail, and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others professionally.
  • Must possess initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Time management.

Shortlisted candidates may be required to complete a written Nursing exam and/or demonstrate competency in Nursing services through a supervised hands-on competency check.
