Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) is a leading UK charity dedicated to improving the health and dignity of Palestinians affected by conflict, occupation, and displacement. With a focus on the occupied Palestinian territory and Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, we provide vital health and medical care to those in need, particularly in crisis zones like Gaza. As part of our commitment to meeting the growing needs of the communities we serve, we're expanding our team.
MAP is seeking a Occupational Therapist who will be responsible for to provide urgent and comprehensive occupational therapy services to patients with injuries or physical disabilities. The therapist will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists and doctors, to create and implement tailored rehabilitation plans that promote patient independence. They will ensure the proper use of assistive devices, educate patients and families, and maintain thorough documentation while adhering to international standards and infection control protocols. Additionally, the therapist will support the rehabilitation program’s overall operations and ensures effective patient care through coordinated referrals.

The ideal candidate is a licensed occupational therapist with a university degree in the field and experience in rehabilitation. They possess a solid understanding of infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols and are knowledgeable about multidisciplinary approaches in emergency settings. The candidate is well-versed in adaptive equipment and assistive technologies, familiar with disability rights and relevant laws, and understands international humanitarian standards and principles.
