Jemima foundation is a home for people with special needs. Palestinian people with both mental and physical handicaps are offered several forms of care and support within the care and day care facilities of Jemima. Our mission is to provide care and education for our beneficiaries in warm and
safe environment. We are therefore advertising for a vacancy in beitJala.

Position : occupational therapy
Placement: Beit Jala-Bethlehem.

Deadline for application: 15 February 2013

Main responsibilities:
-advise on specialist equipment to assist with ADL activities (Activities for Daily Living);
-develop a rehabilitation program to develop delayed skill; help rebuild lost skills and restore lost or low confidence;
-Evaluate on a frequent base the condition of the wheelchairs in Jemima and arrange the required adaptations/maintenance;
-Advise on home and workplace environmental modifications, such as adaptations for wheelchair access.
-Cooperate with a wide variety of other professionals, such as doctors, physiotherapists, social workers, equipment suppliers and architects, as well as patients’ families and employers.
-Write reports and attend multidisciplinary case meetings to plan and review ongoing treatment.
-Organize support and rehabilitation groups for clients.
-Train teachers and supervise the work of occupational therapy inside the classes.

Requirements:
-Education at higher vocational level(BA or more)
-Experience in relevant professional area.
-Knowledge of spoken and written English.
-Consciousness of the Arab culture and awareness of the difference with others culture.

Note: Jemima Needs a care worker in the boarding section and preferably a female.
