Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation Assistant

The Gaza Community Mental health Programme-GCMHP is a non-governmental non- profit association rendering community mental health services, conducts studies and research on different psychosocial phenomena, and designs and implements training programs for mental health professionals.
                                                               
GCMHP would like to announce for the following temporary posts as part of the project “Improvement of Mental Health Provision and Building Local Capacity in Gaza" which is implemented in coordination with International Medical Corps (IMC):                    

Qualifications:    
-Bachelor degree in Psychology, Social Work and/ or Diploma in occupational therapy or in mental health.
-At least 2 years of progressive experience in working with individuals suffering from mental illness or physical disability.
-Education or experience in occupational therapy or rehabilitation.

Main Responsibilities:
-Provide occupational therapy services to patients with mental illness at the OTR Unit. This includes conducting comprehensive assessments of functioning, teaching patients’ skills of daily living, and engaging patients in creative and productive activities.
-Prepare, maintain and update client records.
-Preserve clients’ confidentiality and privacy.
-Document, maintain and update records of activities.
-Participate in training activities and liaise with other service providers as needed.
-Will receive on the job training by GCMHP Occupational Therapist and External Supervisor and will attend training and educational events at the GCMHP to further develop mental health, rehabilitation, and occupational therapy skills.
-Participate in weekly case conference meetings.
-Ensure the OTR environment is a safe and appropriate for clients.
-Perform any other duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisors.
-Adhere and enforce the OTR protocols and guidelines.
