Small Enterprise Center – Gaza Strip
Office Manager
The Office Manager for the Small Enterprise Center (SEC) will be based at SEC –Gaza office. The general objectives of this assignment are to ensure the full administrative of SEC – Gaza office as well as functioning technical expertise to implement SEC’S projects efficiently. In particular, the Office Manager shall be responsible for:
-Overall management of SEC activities, events, projects, etc in Gaza Branch and develop work plans
-Lead and supervise SEC staff in Gaza – office and identifies resources needed and assigns individual assignments, and responsibilities in cooperation with the SEC Technical Operational Manager.
-Identifying needs for start ups and SMEs sector and support in drafting proposals for donors and institution
-Support SEC in developing and reviewing business plans, feasibility studies
-Support in developing training materials, conduct the training, coaching services for the SMEs clients
-High quality communication (correspondence, telephone, reception, visits) in English and Arabic languages, donors, partners, beneficiaries (entrepreneurs of micro and small businesses) and business development services providers (consultants, trainers, support organizations).
-Managing day-to-day operational aspects of a projects and coordinate and follow-up on all activities with partners as required
-Organizing training and other events inside and outside the Gaza Strip
-Archiving documents and other information and building up and maintaining a library on issues of interest for micro, small and medium enterprises,
-Supporting the Center in managing and/or coordinating all other administrative issues of the projects and Center,
-Performing any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements and qualifications
Education:
Minimum of bachelor degree/ preferably Master in management, economy, development or other related technical discipline or equivalent knowledge.
Experience:
at least 7 years related experience including proposal writings and project planning and implementation.
Competencies: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities.
-Fluent in English, strong accurate writing skills in English and Arabic.
-Knowledge and skills in proposal writing and ability to conceptualize projects.
-Knowledge of project management, implementation, and evaluation.
-Expertise in writing sound business plans
-Excellent communications, leadership skills and demonstrate teamwork spirit.
-Ability to take responsibility and function under minimal supervision.
-Knowledge of computer use with MS Office software, word, Excel.
The Office Manager will work under the supervision of the senior Technical Program Manager and the Director General. He / She will report to the Technical Manager in areas related to the Projects and other areas. The Office Manager must show a behaviour that is consistent with the objectives and values of the Centre, and demonstrate this in all his / her contacts with donors, partners, clients, and other organizations and the public in general. In particular, he / she must respect the confidentiality of any information received.
