Job Announcement Operations/Security Coordinator Part-time
The National Democratic Institute (NDI), with support from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), implemented a one-year program in 2013 to provide citizens and members of civil society organizations with the skills to engage local decision-makers and to advocate for issues of importance to their communities.
NDI provided technical assistance to two local civic organizations in the West Bank as they conducted community needs assessments, identified priority issues within their municipalities, and formed committees which engaged elected officials to address the communities needs.
NDI is continuing the program and will assist the organizations to design and implement campaigns connecting citizens with their elected representatives on the identified issues, as well as monitor municipal budgets and budget implementation. NDI will support the organizations through technical assistance and will most likely facilitate advocacy and municipal budgeting workshops.
NDI is seeking a PART-TIME Operations/Security Officer to work closely with the Administrative Officer and Country Lead. The position is based in East Jerusalem with frequent travel to Jenin and Bethlehem.
Responsibilities:
Operations
Driver for NDI West Bank/Gaza
Maintain NDI vehicle including cleaning and maintenance
Liaise, when necessary, with vehicle rental company
Provide logistical support as needed
Provide support to NDI staff members
Provide translation when needed
Security
Liaise with Israeli and Palestinian security forces
Keep abreast of security situation and incidents
Maintain and update security manual
Provide security analysis to NDI country lead and Headquarters
Qualifications:
Valid Israeli drivers license
Ability to freely travel in Israeli and West/Gaza
Knowledge of roads and navigation throughout Israel and West Bank/Gaze
Understanding of security protocols and operations for international organizations
Relationships with security personal in both Israel and West Bank/Gaza
3-5 years relative experience
Fluency in Arabic, English, and understanding of Hebrew
