Job Description

Under the responsibility of the Head of Mission and the operational management of the Project Coordinator, IECD is searching for an OUTREACH OFFICER (m/w) to comply with the following activities:

  1. Identify vulnerable youth interested in vocational training
  • Map vulnerable areas and create a network of partners (schools, community leaders, community centers, educational centers)
  • Visit and meet stakeholders in the region (municipality, NGOs, local associations and community focal points) to present IECD and the newly introduced short training
  • Create awareness for vocational training as a legitimate, practical path in schools and educational institutions of the Bethlehem area
  • Keep track of interested candidates and facilitate their enrollment
  • Organize registration sessions and participate in the selection of candidates according to the requirements
  • Coordinate with the CSO of the Salesians Don Bosco schools in outreach activities
  1. Reporting
  • Report on activities and outreached youth according to the project requirements
  • Support the Project Coordinator in additional reporting needs
  • Maintain and follow up the project database
  • Analyze impact, report on main challenges and suggest solutions for improvement
  • Participate in training on the monitoring tools and report in any possible improvement
  1. Implement adequate and effective communication tools to support in-the-field outreach efforts
  • Promote and communicate on the training courses among stakeholders, partners, and institutions
  • Develop and implement a communication strategy on social networks addressed to the project target
  • Develop brochures and flyers to promote the courses and create awareness on vocational training
  • Participate in events about education and youth employment in the governorate

Job Requirements

Arab language is compulsory

Education: University degree in education, psychology (social work) or business

Experience: 2 years at least in the private, public or NGO sector.

  • Experience in education (esp vocational training) is of advantage
  • Experience in projects to promote youth employability is a plus

Competencies :

  • Able of independent, autonomous work
  • Good level in English written and spoken
  • Good knowledge of the vocational training environment in the Bethlehem area
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Qualities :

  • Commitment with vulnerable parts of the Palestinian society
  • Very good organization skills with a high level of adaptability and flexibility
  • Able to work in a team and coordinate with other staff
  • Interested in human development and capacity building
  • Compliance with IECD values: focus on the person, principle of service and professional commitment.
Contract: part-time local contract under Palestinian Labor Law
