Outreach & Visibility Officer

CHF International is implementing a three-year program, called Palestinian Community Assistance Program in Gaza with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The overall goal for PCAP is to pave the way to a brighter future for Palestinians through social and economic relief and recovery by meeting basic humanitarian needs and laying the foundations for long-term recovery in Gaza. To support the implementation of this program, CHF International and partners are seeking qualified candidates to assume the following positions, on a possible renewable yearly contract:

Outreach & Visibility Officer (1 position) – Gaza
Programs: USAID-PCAP
Duration: 1 Year       
1- Job Summary and Duties:
CHF is seeking a candidate for an Outreach & Visibility Officer position in its Gaza Office. The Outreach & Visibility Officer shall be responsible for outreach to the public and reporting tasks related to CHF’s role under PCAP, which comprise of Housing, Infrastructure and Agriculture. 

Responsibilities:
-Increase awareness among the Gazan community on the CHF PCAP activities.
-Expand media coverage of CHF’s work and of house reconstruction and agricultural issues.
-Develop and distribute press releases, media advisories, fact sheets and other appropriate materials to support media coverage of CHF and partner activities.
-Drive policy and advocacy on shelter and food security for media interviews and/or presentations.
-Develop visibility materials describing CHF PCAP, activities and achievements.
-Establish relationships with Partner organizations.
-Prepare media and site briefs and speeches for Program Managers and coordinate events in the field.
-Play the role of Quality Control to ensure all materials conform to the United State government branding guidelines, CHF branding guidelines and other partner's branding guidelines.
-Organize and facilitate journalists exposure visits to CHF PCAP
-Under the guidance of the M&E and Reporting Officer, implement a communication and outreach strategy for the PCAP program, with objectives and performance indicators
-Organize and co-ordinate communication and education related meetings, prepare agenda, produce minutes, and ensure follow-up of action agreed in the policy meetings for CHF
-Participate in external meetings and events as requested, including at local, regional and national levels
-Participate in PCAP technical team meetings and identify potential topics for presentation during the meetings.
-Support the PCAP team to develop communication and outreach initiatives at community and district levels,
-Provide information, materials for outreach and advice as appropriate in consultation with the relevant teams
-Document PCAP success stories and notes from the field and share with partners at the local and national levels through various media including print and electronic.

Qualifications:
Education and Training
-A university degree in communications or journalism or other relevant field, or a combination of experience and education working in this sector.

Experience
-At least 3 years relevant experience with international organizations in communication of, and reporting for complex projects.
-Past work with USAID and/or European funded programs preferred.

Technical skills   
-Ability to manage multiple priorities while working as part of team Good understanding of basic IT programs
-High analytical and reporting skills.
-Ability to solve problems in the field with partners, local committees and beneficiaries.
-Good command of spoken and written English and Arabic.
-Computer/word processing and standard office software skills.
