Participation Project Coordinator
Save the Children (SCUK) a leading UK charity fighting for children’s rights and delivering immediate and lasting improvement to children’s lives worldwide. SCUK is seeking a Participation Project Coordinator. The Participation Project Coordinator will oversee the implementation of SCUK’s child and adult participation work, to ensure the quality and effectiveness of programming in accordance with the grant proposal and guidelines, as well as SCUK values and principles. The goal of this programme is to empower children to engage with and influence those in a position to impact their present and future well being. The project coordinator will be responsible for developing a set of training manuals for both children and adults on participation and participatory development skills and methodologies as well as child rights. These manuals will be used in trainings and work with both children and adults in targeted communities. The trainings will culminate in the development of small grant projects by adults and children from the targeted communities, and overseen by the project coordinator and SCUK fieldworkers. This will initially be a 10 month contract with the expectation that project work will continue for at least three years. The position does not currently include line management responsibilities.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Develop and manage the implementation of a detailed programme plan
Supervise day to day project implementation and grant management
Produce a participation training materials
Contribute to financial and narrative grant reporting
Coordinate field work and develop partnerships
Monitor and evaluate project progress
Contribute to organizational strategic planning and fundraising
Qualifications:
University degree in Social Sciences or a related field
Minimum five years experience in project coordination
Technical expertise in the field(s) of participation and participatory development
Grant management experience
Finance/budget management experience
Excellent written and spoken English and fluent Arabic
Ability to manage a varied workload and perform to tight deadlines
Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout the West Bank
Experience working with children preferred
