Caritas Jerusalem was established in 1967 after the Six Day War as a response to the serious humanitarian situation of the Palestinian people at that time. We continue to meet the needs of the Palestinian people in the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem. In Gaza we provide high quality healthcare to people of all ages in Caritas Healthcare Centre and in poor and marginalized areas throughout the Gaza Strip. Caritas currently has a vacancy for a pharmacist.
Starting date: 15 January 2018
Duration: Full Time, 9 months.
Type of contract: Service Contract
Place of work: Caritas Clinic, Beach Camp or with Mobile Medical Team.

Main Responsibilities include:

In cooperation with the warehouse manager:

Responsible for all medication including storage of drugs, tracking and management of expiry dates.
Responsible for International Medical Corps (IMC) prepositioned medication and medical supplies including record keeping in accordance with IMC requirements.
Preparing medicine for Mobile Medical Teams (MMT) and maintaining records of medicine dispensed by MMTs
Preparing reports as required for each project and donor organization.

In Caritas Healthcare Centre

Dispense drugs for patients according to doctors’ orders
Provide information, education, and counseling to patients about medication-related care.
Document the care provided in patients’ records.
Identify any barriers to patient compliance.

Key skills required:

Ability to work long hours, often under pressure
Good computer skills and willingness to learn Caritas Integrated Patient Information System.
Good communication skills and ability to work as a member of a team.
Good spoken and written English.

Essential Requirements

A degree in pharmacy (Bachelor)
Professional license
At least two years clinical experience.
Experience of stock management
Experience of working in primary healthcare
