Job Description
FUNCTION: Physiotherapist – Physical Rehabilitation Programme
PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT: GAZA
Main tasks:
-Ability to provide adequate patient treatment independently
-In collaboration with Physiotherapist (PT) expatriate initiates, plans, implements and evaluates
training seminars, workshops and dissemination sessions.
-Together with PT expatriate and Physiotherapy in-patient team, strengthens the post-surgical
physiotherapy project in all aspect of implementation.
-In conjunction with PT expatriate work with hospital physicians to develop appropriate referral criteria for patients.
-In conjunction with PT expatriate assesses the general health situation, hospital needs, and
appropriately communicates information concerning physiotherapy services.
-Perform duties in all areas of the project(s) as required
-Assists PT expatriate, keeps information updated, communicates accordingly and advises the Physical Rehabilitation Team when necessary
-Registers and treats different information with confidentiality and accuracy
-Produces reports, minutes of meetings, statistics and assessments of various kinds
-Translate (written/spoken) from Arabic to English and English to Arabic
Main skills required for the post:
Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy / Preferably registered Physiotherapist.
Experience within the field of Physical Rehabilitation, Hospital work, and/or Occupational Therapy
preferred.
Good written and spoken English essential
Autonomy and self-motivation, as well as the ability to work in a team
Respecting confidentiality
Behaving in an impartial way towards all interlocutors
Computer knowledge of Word and Excel
Ability to cooperate with other ICRC departments and external interlocutors
Flexibility and Negotiation skills
Diplomacy
Ability to represent the ICRC and conduct activities while abiding by the Principles of the Movement,
most importantly neutrality and impartiality
Languages required: Arabic/ English
In accordance with the Resolution No. 17, 2010 of the Gaza Ministry of Interior, applicants who
have a running contract with a Ministry will not be selected.
