Physiotherapist

The Internatiional Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war and internal violence and to provide them with assistance. The ICRC in Jerusalem is looking for a candidate to fill in the following post

Starting Date: June 2010

Minimum Requirements of the Post
-Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent experience
-Experience in Physical Rehabilitation Centre or Hospital work preferred
-Good written and spoken English is essential
-Autonomy and self-motivation as well as ability to work in a team
-Respecting confidentiality
-Behaving in an impartial way towards all interlocutors and cooperating with other ICRC departments and external interlocutors
-Computer knowledge Word and Excel
-Capacity to translate documents and other lectures from Arabic to English and English to Arabic
-Ability to present the ICRC while abiding by the principles of the movements, most importantly
neutrality and impartiality

Job descriptioin
-Provides adequate patient treatment, either independently or under supervision
-Under supervision, Physiotherapist inifiates, plans, implements and evaluates training seminars, workshops and dissemination sessions
-Works with hospital physicians to develop proper referral criteria for patients
-Assesses health situation, needs of hospitals, and communicates to appropriate, in relation to physiotherapy services
-Collaborates with Artificial limb and Polio Centre
-Keeps the information current, communicates accordingly, and advises Physical Rehabilitation
Tearn when it is necessary
-Registers and treats different information with confidentiality and accuracy
-Produces reports, statistics and assessments
