Placement officer Vocational training – short courses

Under the reasonability of the Head of Mission and the operational management of the Project Coordinator, IECD is searching for a PLACEMENT OFFICER (m/w) to comply with the following activities:

  1. Prepare beneficiaries for professional integration
  • Organize individual meetings with students during the training period to learn about their background, experience, and current achievements
  • Follow up with the trainers on each student
  • Facilitate a career session for each trainee to support job/internship search and advise on career paths
  • Visit the trainees in their internship places and collect feedback and evaluation from their employers
  • Individual follow up on the students and update files in the database
  • Coordinate with the CSO of the Salesian Don Bosco school in placement efforts for trainees
  1. Reporting
  • Report on activities according to the project requirements
  • Support the Project Coordinator in additional reporting needs
  • Fill regularly the database (including qualitative comments), make sure the data is up to date before monthly reports
  • Analyze impact, report on main challenges and suggest solutions for improvement
  • Record any noticeable trends, identify difficulties and potential solutions to improve the placement rate
  • Participate in training on the monitoring tools and report in any possible improvement
  1. Foster a network with potential employers and economic players
  • Create a database with potential employers in the targeted area
  • Foster and develop good relationships with potential employers and economic players
  • Link trainees and employers matching capacities and needs
  • Identify internship and employment opportunities.
  • Collect feedback from employers on their response or need for different or new skills
  • Provide recommendations for curricula adaptation or new training paths

Job Requirements

Arab language is compulsory

Education: University degree in education or business

Experience: 2 years at least in the private, public or NGO sector.

  • Experience in education (esp vocational training) is of advantage
  • Experience in projects to promote youth employability is a plus

Competencies :

  • Able of independent, autonomous work
  • Good level in English written and spoken
  • Good knowledge of the vocational training environment and the business ecosystem in the Bethlehem area
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Qualities :

  • Commitment with vulnerable parts of the Palestinian society
  • Very good organization skills with a high level of adaptability and flexibility
  • Able to work in a team
  • Interested in human development and capacity building
  • Compliance with IECD values: focus on the person, principle of service and professional commitment.
Contract: part-time local contract under Palestinian Labor Law
Under the responsibility of: the Project Coordinator
Localization: based in Bethlehem, regular meetings in Al Azariah
Start time: asap
Duration: 30 months contract (including 3 months probation)
