Job Description


Palestinian Organization for Development (POD) is a non-governmental, non-profit and independent Organization, founded in Middle governorate - Gaza Strip in 2000. POD works toward social-economic development to perform positive changes in the human life.
POD in partnership with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) starts a program entitled “Envision Gaza 2020”, USAID-funded project, to implement two key activities:

Providing basic humanitarian assistance to extremely vulnerable households in the forms of food and non-food items, and (2) Increasing employment opportunities through short term employment in the form of cash for work, cash for internships and cash for apprenticeships, minor capital investments, and job training.

POD is recruiting candidates for the following position:
 

Project Admin and Finance Assistant


Title: Project Admin and Finance Assistant - Full-Time
Place: POD Office, Deir Al Balah
Period: 12 months with possible extension
Reports to:  Project Manager & Financial Manager

Tasks and responsibilities:

Finance:

-Assists in the management of the project budget by budget formulation, controlling allocations, monitoring expenditures, and preparing revisions according to the needs of the project;
-Generates financial reports, when needed;
-Ensures the effective recording and reporting system, internal control and audit follow-up and processes administrative and financial transactions in an accurate and timely way;
-Drafts routine correspondence related to financial and administrative matters for the signatures of Project Manager;
-Perform any other tasks required by Financial Manager.

Administrative:

-Assists in preparation of annual and quarterly project work plans, and arranges relevant planning meetings within the office and with counterparts;
-Facilitates preparation of project review meetings and semiannual Component meetings, drafts minutes of meetings;
-Assist in the logistical and managerial preparation for all project required supplies and equipment.
-Ensures that all official documents are prepared and kept in the project files for retrieval and archiving;
-Facilitates project activities and relevant missions, by arranging meeting schedules, coordinating logistical support, collecting reference documents, and maintaining records;
-Perform any other tasks required by Project Manager.


Qualifications:

-University degree in business administration, Accountingor other relevant filed;
-Minimum 2 years relevant experience in NGO accounting;
-knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel;
-Experience in using the accounting system (Golden Asseal );
-Excellent reporting and formal writing skills in both English & Arabic;
-Ability to prepare financial plans and financial analysis;
-Ability to work under pressure and within a team.
