PR & Media Officer
The Palestinian Electricity Transmission Ltd. (PETL) invites applications from eligible candidates for PR & Media Officer position with the following details:
PR & Media Officer (Ref. #: PRM/GMU/ 2017-01)
Roles and Responsibilities:
-Develop the company's media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media
-Coordinate all public relations activities
-Direct company's social media activities to engage public across traditional and new media
-Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within industry media
-Manage media inquiries and interview requests
-Create content for press releases, byline articles and keynote presentations
-Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results on a quarterly basis
-Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an on-going basis.
-Build relationships with thought leaders to grow industry awareness
-Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them
-Coordinate public events and special projects as assigned.
-Develop content and design of all publications and media.
-Develop and fosters relationships with members of the media.
-Prepare and distribute news releases, story ideas, photographs and videos to media representatives.
-Initiate and plan PR campaigns defining goals; analyzing problems and opportunities; liaising with management.
-Develop and maintain an excellent, sharable database of contacts for media and experts and also a history of stories
-Speaking in public at presentations, press conferences, radio and TV interviews, and meetings.
-Planning, developing and implementing PR strategies;
-Liaising with colleagues and key spokespeople;
-Liaising with and answering enquiries from media, individuals and other organizations, often via telephone and email;
-Researching, writing and distributing press releases to targeted media;
-Collating and analyzing media coverage;
-Writing and editing in-house brochures, speeches, articles and annual reports;
-Preparing and supervising the production of publicity brochures, and handouts.
-Organizing events including press conferences, exhibitions, open days and press tours;
-Maintaining and updating information on the organization’s website;
-Managing the PR aspect of a potential crisis situation.
Qualifications:
-Proven working experience in public relations required
-Proven track record designing and executing successful public relations campaigns at both a local and national level
-Strong relationships with both local and national business and industry media outlets
-Experience in acting as a company spokesperson; comfortable and skilled in both broadcast and print media interviews
-Exceptional writing and editing skills in English and Arabic
-Solid experience with social media including blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
-Event planning experience
-BA/MA degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or a related discipline
