Project Summary
Creative Associates seeks a Gaza-based Primary Education Officer for the USAID-funded West Bank and Gaza (WBG) Basic Education Activity, which will strengthen education services for Palestinian children of KG 1 through Grade 6, enabling them to thrive and reach their full developmental potential. Under the Basic Education Activity, USAID seeks to work with the private sector, non-formal, non-governmental, community-based, and civil society partners to strengthen early childhood and primary educational opportunities through high-quality early childhood education services and supplemental support structures to strengthen foundational pre-primary and primary education for children in the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem. Specific areas of focus include strengthening foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, social-emotional learning (SEL)/soft skills, building teacher and student resilience capabilities and assets, and strengthening pathways between non-formal to formal education.

Position Summary
Gaza Primary Education Officer, under the leadership of Gaza Lead and in close cooperation with partners and stakeholders, will ensure that BEA’s Grades 1 to 6 remedial activities in Gaza are focused, responsive, in-scope result, and adjusted to meet needs and meaningfully support the primary Education to transition from emergency to recovery.
Reporting & Supervision:
The Primary Education Officer will work closely with and report to the Gaza Lead.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Gaza Lead in implementing educational plans for primary-aged students that focus on improving academic achievement, psycho-social well-being, and leadership skills.
- Assist in developing and disseminating remedial and supplemental education materials, ensuring alignment with current academic standards and needs.
- Coordinate with local NGOs, community-based organizations, and education stakeholders to facilitate the delivery of high-quality, non-formal education services.
- Participate in the training of non-government primary school teachers, youth leaders, and community volunteers, enhancing their capacity to offer effective remedial and supplemental education programs.
- Conduct field visits to ensure the quality of the related activities' implementation.
Ensure that all assessments, follow-ups, and weekly and progress reports are completed in a timely manner. - Collaborate closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation team to monitor the quality of implementing primary education activities.
- Support the implementation of successful primary education activities and ensure that all activities and sessions adhere to safe learning principles.
- Contribute to improving extracurricular and skill-building programs, ensuring they are accessible and beneficial to students.
- Maintain quality, up-to-date documentation for all related activities and work.
- Collaborate with team members across locations, including the entire Gaza Strip, to ensure cohesive implementation and monitoring of IR 2 activities.
- Perform other related duties as directed by the Gaza Lead.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education, child psychology, or a related field from an accredited university.
- A minimum of 4 years' experience in the education sector, with a preference for candidates who have experience in primary education or extracurricular programs.
- Experience working with national and international organizations within the Education sector.
- Demonstrated understanding of the educational landscape and challenges within the Gaza strip.
- Proven ability to work effectively with teams and stakeholders, showcasing strong leadership and relational skills.
- Ability to develop positive and professional relations with technical staff, local counterparts, and other stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent communication abilities in both Arabic and English.
