International Medical Corps has been present in Gaza since 2009.  International Medical Corps is currently recruiting staff to be based in Gaza, for a US Agency for International Development funded project. Gaza 2020: Health Matters is a five-year intervention designed to improve the resilience of the health sector in Gaza by increasing access to and quality of emergency and essential health services provided by NGOs, CBOs, and private providers.

JOB SUMMARY
The Primary Health Care Assistant will provide administrative and technical support to ensure success for the sub-awards program to NGO and CBOs working in primary health care activities under the project activity including expanded access to primary health care services in the NGO sector and increased availability of targeted services in the NGO sector.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

-Participation in quality programming related to emergency care, primary health care, reproductive health, community mental health, community health outreach, nutrition, pharmaceutical supply, and appropriate drug use.
-Coordinate program components between the service provision and the program partners (Care, Mercy Core and Juzoor)
-Work with sub-awardees on follow up of their application and their feedback reports for the program
-Keeping Database for the NGOs and CBO providing Primary health care services
-Participate in meetings related to the program with international Donors and the local related committees
-Working with the Emergency team and hospital team in developing emergency response plans to ensure health care facility and provider capabilities are integrated as one cohort of potential first responders.
-Preparation of the reports related to the progress of the program activities regular reporting on all activities under the project activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

-Advanced Degree in one health sciences with Masters in Public Health or equivalent degree.
-At least 3 years of experience working in the area of primary health care.
-Demonstrated familiarity with the health system in Gaza, especially with the NGOs and CBOs that provide primary health care and health outreach services.
-Strong verbal and written English communication skills required. Arabic preferred
-Experience in use of Microsoft office and internet programs.

Based in Gaza, with frequent travel to project sites
