Primary Health Care Officer
Contract Duration: One Year

International Medical Corps is working to relieve the suffering of those impacted by war, natural disaster and disease by delivering vital health care services that focus on training, helping devastated populations return to self-reliance.

The USAID Gaza 2020: Health Matters project is designed to improve emergency preparedness and response (EPR), and to improve access and availability of quality primary and secondary health care by building the capacity of NGOs and community-based organizations (CBO) in Gaza and the West Bank. International Medical Corps (IMC) and its partners, Cooperative for Assistance and Relief Everywhere, Inc. (CARE), Juzoor for Health and Social Development (Juzoor), and Mercy Corps, (the Consortium) bring together various components necessary to create a holistic system that is gender sensitive and responsive to crisis and to the needs of residents of Gaza and West Bank, including vulnerable populations.

International Medical corps is currently looking for Primary Health Care Officer:

Scope of Work:

-    Organization for the technical meetings, related workshops and for the advisory board meetings.
-    Writing professional reports under Public Health components including but not limited to breast cancer reports and highlights, periodic reports, monthly progress and status reports and troubleshooting reports.
-    Preparation of the required plans such as working plans, procurement plans, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
-    Coordinate the partners’ technical and non-technical training and field-work
-    Coordinate and communicate with partners and stakeholders within and outside Gaza to manage the breast cancer interventions.
-    Site follow-up visits and to ensure regular reporting on all activities under the project activities, more specifically breast cancer intervention reports and give timely and technical feedback.
-    Tracking Recommendations of Senior Management Team and Program meetings and actions points related to Crisis respond fund including breast cancer intervention.
-    Tracking the Performance Management Plan (PMP) related to breast cancer and following intervention indicators and the project achievements versus the work plan.


Qualifications and Skills :

-    An advanced degree in medicine, or relevant health background with Master degree in Public Health or equivalent degree.
-    Clinical experience is desirable.
-    At least 3 years of experience working as a technical expert in the area of primary health care and /or breast cancer intervention projects
-    Demonstrated familiarity with the health system in Gaza, especially with the NGOs and CBOs that provide primary health care and health outreach services
-    Strong verbal and written English communication skills required, Arabic preferred.
-    Experience in use of Microsoft office and internet programs.
