Job Description
Mercy Corps, a non-governmental international relief and development agency, is working in occupied Palestinian territory to promote dignified living, economic development and civic engagement in Palestinian communities through humanitarian assistance, increased job and economic opportunities in the ICT sector and community empowerment for peaceful change and human rights. Mercy Corps is implementing a growing portfolio of relief and development programs to meet this objective. Mercy Corps is currently recruiting for the following fulltime position based in Jerusalem to support its programs.
 
Procurement and Logistics Officer
Main Responsibilities: The Procurement and Logistics Officer (PLO) will be responsible
primarily for the following aspects of Mercy Corps’ work: procurement, including handling
and shipment of goods, fleet management, including supervision of drivers, and assets
management. As a designated procurement staff member the PLO will be responsible for
implementing and maintaining the highest standards of efficiency and integrity in the purchase and delivery of goods and services.

Qualifications:
-Degree or equivalent in a relevant field;
-Strong background in logistics (procurement, warehousing, distribution, documentation), and knowledge of tools such as goods received notes, waybills, packing lists and cargo movement requests;
-Experience of working with international or local NGOs an asset;
-Demonstrated knowledge of donor regulations, including USAID, ECHO, DFID;
-Excellent organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently;
-Demonstrated ability to take pro-active steps to communicate effectively with team members of varied work styles, follow procedures, and meet deadlines;
-Ability to prioritize tasks, develop work plans, and to report against work targets to a diverse team of colleagues;
- Willingness to travel throughout the West Bank, Israel and to Gaza;
-Excellent computer skills including Excel and Word;
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
-Good written and spoken English.
