AMIDEAST, is an international, non-profit, educational organization in the West Bank and Gaza with officesthroughout the Middle East and North Africa. AMIDEAST is recruiting a number of positions for a USAID-funded project to be based in its Ramallah office.

 

Procurement Assistant


Then Procurement Assistant will help in the administration of the procurement of commodities, services and supplies procured by the School Improvement Program for the benefit of different schools in West Bank. The main tasks will include administration of tender, coordinating with vendors and partner schools and provision of administrative support to the procurement support team.

Position Responsibilities:
The Procurement Assistant will be based in Ramallah and Receive general supervision, administrative guidance, and day-to-day supervision from the Procurement and Compliance Officer. Specifically the Procurement Assistant will have the following duties:
-Provide support to SIP team in the administrative works related to tenders and requests for quotations including organizing bids receipt, bids opening and data entry of bids and prepare bid analysis documents.
-Contact and coordinate with the beneficiary schools to obtain their needs including quantities and specifications of commodities and supplies.
-Provide support to the procurement team in arranging meetings, bid opening sessions and vendors meetings.
-Sustain and improve the current filing and documentation for all of the procurement documents including request for quotations, bids and bid analysis, vetting requests, and notices and directions from USAID.
-Provide support in maintaining procurement database and filling system
-Assist SIP team in preparing payment requests submitted to finance including organizing and sorting documents.
-Maintain an updated asset register for project properties.
-Any other duties as assigned

The Procurement Assistant should have the following qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree preferably in business administration, social sciences or related field
-Knowledge of administrative and procurement procedures.
-At least one year of experience in working with similar USAID funded projects.
-Familiarity with donor’s regulations; USAID project work preferred.
-Fluency in English and Arabic.
-Excellent knowledge of software applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, and e-mail.
