MdM Switzerland, has been working in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) since 1994 in the sector of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), implementing emergency and development interventions, focusing on victim of occupation-related violence, children and detention, suicide prevention and management, strengthen of access to mental health cares at national and community level, and advocacy initiative.
YOUR MISSION
Under the direct supervision of the Program Coordinator and in close coordination with the Gaza Field Coordinator, as well as with the Mental Health Advisor and/or the Communicable Disease Specialist, the Program Area Officer will organise, implement and monitor the activities of the programme that MdM is implementing in Gaza Strip.
- S/he will ensure compliance with planning, the logical framework and guidelines (donors, MdM).
- S/he will promote the quality of activities, practices and data.
- S/he will directly or indirectly lead/supervise teams (MdM or partner).
Main objective:
- Coordinate and manage the active projects implemented in Gaza to achieve the established objectives on time and within budget.
Specific objectives:
- Coordinating project schedules, resources, equipment and information in the mission.
- Ensure that beneficiaries needs are met as the projects evolve.
- Ensure the proper use of MDM resources in Palestine.
- Ensure the respect of MDM procedures in Palestine.
The Program Area Officer controls the staff under his/her direct supervision according to the organigram, and participates in the project meetings according to the indications established by the Program Coordinator.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Main responsibilities and tasks of the Project Coordinator can change according to the organization of the work and to the composition of the team.
- Organise and supervise activities
- Provide information and report on progress
- Manage resources required for activities (logistics, finance, HR, pharmacy), participate in
- planning
- Technical supervision of MdM staff and/or partners
- Supervise practices, monitor processes and procedures
- Identify needs and carry out training activities for MdM staff and/or partners
- Participate in the planning and operational implementation of the intervention strategy (i.e.
- design of activities)
- Collate data, participate in data analysis and monitor indicators
- Facilitate/coordinate partners
- Draft and finalize activity reports
- Contribute to evaluation missions, impact studies, capitalisation studies, etc
- Represent MdM with partners and local authorities
- Carry out communication work around the project
- Participate in advocacy work
- Monitor the context
- Manage and lead a team (information, setting objectives, monitoring activities, managing leave, recruitment, discipline, security, training, skills management)
- Plan and monitor activities and implement corrective action where necessary
- Advise, arbitrate and support measures to be taken in the event of difficulties, malfunctions and/or incidents

- A degree in Business Administration, or relevant fields.
- 3+ years of experience covering similar positions.
- Experience with MdM is a plus.
- Having excellent command of English.
- Hard-working, willing to learn new things, and having can-do-attitude.

- 3+ years of experience covering similar positions
- Good Knowledge and Understanding about Project Management Cycle
- Previous experience in Project Management Cycle
- Previous experience in Management of Projects related to Health and Mental Health
- Previous experience working with INGO is a plus
- English proficiency mandatory
- Good knowledge of Microsoft office.
- Good skills in writing and designing proposals.
- Driver license is an asset.
- Leadership, diplomatic and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in team.
- Reactivity, anticipation, adaptability, capacity to take initiatives.
- Autonomy to work independently and without constant supervision.
- Ability to manage priorities effectively.
- Good skills in organization, coordination and transfer of knowledge.

CONDITIONS:
The position is based in Bethlehem,
Contract type: fixed term contract
Contract Duration: 6 months renewable, with 3 months’ probation period
Working Hours: Standard office working hours from Sunday to Thursday.
