Job Description
Position Title: Program Coordinator
Location: Ramallah – West Bank
Mercy Corps (MC) is a non-profit, non-aligned, secular non-governmental (NGO) humanitarian relief and development organization, registered in the United States and Scotland with offices in more than 40 countries around the world, including the West Bank and Gaza, where the organization has been active in implementing relief and development programs for nearly a decade.
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
The Mercy Corps’ “Knowledge Based Transformation” (KBT) portfolio of programs aims to support the expansion of ICT technology enabled industry in the West Bank and Gaza through a variety of interventions including formal ICT sector development, capacity building and market linkage support to existing ICT companies, entrepreneurship and technical training, education and workforce development. Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Program Coordinator ICT will provide support, technical consultation and expertise to all Mercy Corps ICT programs in the West Bank.
The Program Coordinator will work closely with senior Program Officer on all aspects of program design, implementation and monitoring and evaluation.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Provide overall support to ICT development programs in West Bank.
-Support the launch of new ICT program initiatives in Palestine.
-Help select participants for Mercy Corps organized trainings.
-Assist in the design of new program activities and pre selection process for West Bank developers and entrepreneurs.
-Coordinate visits by donors and other multinational corporations to participate in ICT related missions in West Bank;
-Contribute to developing the work plans and evaluation strategy while providing support to ongoing activities.
-Works cooperatively with Mercy Corps staff, local community, partner NGOs, and other parties.
-Assists in the design and organization of a large range of trainings. Monitors and provides support as required.
-Regularly conducts field visits to the project sites to monitor ongoing work.
-Generates verbal and written translations of pertinent project documentation as needed/required.
-Leads in planning baseline as well as end line data collection in line with the established evaluation strategy.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
-University degree in IT, computer engineering or relevant field preferred
-At least two years’ experience working in ICT technologies. Preference given to experience developing applications and working on iOS and Android.
-Proven skills in strategic planning, assessment, training, organization, monitoring and evaluation.
-Excellent communication, organizational and prioritization skills with ability to multi-task and support and/ or fill multiple positions at one time.
-Demonstrate attention to detail and ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work both independently and cooperatively with the team members.
-Knowledge of Google Technologies
-Excellent writing skills in English and Arabic.
-Demonstrate flexibility and creativity in planning and problem solving;
-Proven ability to learn quickly, take initiative and be accountable for results;
