Project: West Bank & Gaza SMART Project
Expected start and end date:  December 2021 – end of project
Level of effort: Full-time
Location: Gaza, Palestine
 
Background
The Small and Medium Enterprise Assistance for Recovery and Transition (SMART) project is a four year, USAID funded program implemented by DAI.  SMART aims to rapidly recover Palestinian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and put them on a path to revitalization following unprecedented crises e.g., COVID-19. SMART will help SMEs regain productivity, grow, and expand. It will promote economic growth and self-reliance in the West Bank and Gaza.
 
Purpose
The Program Coordinator will work with the Senior Business Advisor and the Business Advisors to implement project activities in their assigned region (Ramallah or Gaza).
 
Responsibilities
  1. Work with the team on implementing projects activities including preparation for workshops, training, information gathering, and other assigned tasks.
  2. Work with the team in monitoring project activities for reporting purposes including monthly briefs and annual impact reports.
  3. Ensure that all project activities are entered into project TAMIS (Technical and Management Information System) database and USAID/WBG Geo-MIS (Geographic Information System).
  4. Report on events or special activities of the Unit.
  5. Assist in the preparation of trip schedules for consultants and follow up on their logistic arrangements.
  6. Assist with managing communications between technical team and the operations team.
  7. Assist with day-to-day operations including specific assignments to oversee and coordinate specific programs.

Job Requirements
Key Qualifications: 
 
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, business or related field preferred. 
WORK EXPERIENCE
  • 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
  • High level of interpersonal and diplomatic skills required.
  • Previous work experience in Palestine or the Middle East desired.
Reporting
The Program Coordinator will report to the Senior Business Advisor in Ramallah and work closely with Business Advisors in Gaza.
