About the position

Post location: Gaza Strip, office in Deir Al-Balah

Contract duration: 4 months renewable according to funding
Job Summary:
The Program Coordinator assistant supports the Program Coordinator/manager in supporting the mission to achieve the intended operational results.
In particular, he/she helps in ensuring the quality of implemented projects through reporting follow up, results monitoring, context monitoring, lessons learned and knowledge management, tools development and trainings.
The Program Coordinator assistant takes part to the development and implementation of Solidarités International technical strategy, external representation, and specific technical methodology.
Job Description:
Project quality
- To help in ensuring the quality of implemented projects through reporting follow up, results monitoring, context monitoring, lessons learned and knowledge management, tools development and trainings
- To work closely with the the program coordinator/manager in coordinating information exchange and timely support.
- Collect information from the bases and assist in the quality analysis of the activities carried out with the Program Coordinator/manager
Coordination, technical support and operational monitoring
- Together with the Program coordinator/manager, set objectives and specific and general indicators in order to assess and monitor the impact of the programs and to reshape them if necessary
- Support Program coordinator/manages for carrying out and/or supervising task and resource planning over time, according to the objectives which have been set
- Suggest new tasks/projects as regards organizational strategy and proficient analysis of the situation (contribute to annual scheduling) to Program coordinator/manager
- Monitor the development of current programs (progress, suitability and effectiveness) and suggest modifications to Program coordinator/manager
- Together with the program coordinator/manager, ensure and approve quality and adherence to guidelines and due dates set in any contractual documents (proposal, intermediate and final reports...)
- Support the teams on site, by regularly visiting intervention sites planned with the Program coordinator/manager, pre-empting problems and listening to the teams
- Ensure that local communities are closely involved in project implementation and that the relationship between Solidarités International and local communities remains harmonious, together with field managers and Program coordinator/manager
- Together with the program coordinator/manager, be involved in the review and follow up of the different operational follow ups.
Strategic orientation
- The Program Coordinator assistant support the development and implementation of Solidarités International technical strategy in the country.
- To participate in preparation of assessment methodology and reporting formats as specified in the Tool Box to ensure timely and high quality information analysis and recommendation if needed
- To participate in humanitarian needs identification and analysis and in the conceptualization of appropriate activities in collaboration with targeted communities
- To participate in and draft project ideas, concept notes and proposals for funding.
Knowledge management
- Reporting: To ensure that project files are complete and regularly updated with periodic reporting and monitoring information and communications.
- Coordination: To participate in information collection, through development of a network of humanitarian stakeholders
Reporting / communication / representation
- To prepare project and program periodic and other reports as necessary, together with analysis and recommendations
- Compile the activity sheets provided in the Tool box from the different bases
- Participate in the Consolidation activity reports and supervise the preparation annexes linked to activities for reports and/or financial donors with the Program Coordinator
- Participating to the Validation of technical expertise reports
- Represent the organization when asked and/or delegated to do so
- In conjunction with the Program Coordinator/manager, establish and maintain a communication network and good relations with local/government authorities, financial donor representatives, UN agencies and other international agencies.
- Ensure with the Program Coordinator/manager that SI is represented at all meetings or forums concerning activities

Studies: Relevant education in program management, development, data analysis, humanitarian context studies, with bachelor degree;
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in humanitarian programming, experience working with local partners is a plus.
Languages: Fluency in both Arabic and English.
Skills:
- Strong analytical skills and ability to develop humanitarian analyses and strategies in emergency contexts.
- Knowledge and experience in FSL, CASH, Meal or wash programming is a significant advantage
- Excellent ability to develop detailed projects’ plans, including goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets.
- Experience and ability to prepare and perform trainings in English and Arabic.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate, work in teams and network, including a good understanding of the humanitarian structure.
- Strong ability to create monitoring tools and dashboards.
- Patient, adaptable, flexible, able to improvise, remain responsive, and communicate clearly and effectively under pressure.
- Self-motivation, creativity, and an ability to perform individually and as part of a team.
