Program Coordinators with Health Background
Job Description
The USAID-funded Palestinian Health Sector Reform and Development Project (the Flagship Project) is a five-year project funded by USAID and implemented by Chemonics International Inc. to support the Palestinian Ministry of Health and other key non-governmental health providers in developing a vibrant, sustainable, and efficient health system to improve the quality of life for the Palestinian people. The Flagship Project is currently recruiting highly motivated professionals to fill the following position:
Program Coordinators with Health Background (long-term)
-Coordinates effective and timely integration of multi-disciplinary health activities and initiatives based on project work plan and direction of the technical component director.
- Works closely with operations, procurements, and finance teams to properly build specific plans of action and timelines to ensure scheduled project technical objectives are implemented successfully and according to schedule.
-Contributes to the technical components of the project by conducting needs assessments to determine the technical needs of the MoH and NGOs.
- Works with the technical team to identify opportunities and conduct research to positively influence policies and practice pertaining to health.
-Contributes to the necessary planning and implementation of the monitoring and reporting activities
- Assures that project activities and technical developments/achievements are shared with the project communications specialist. As required, contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and to the preparation of trip and technical reports.
-As assigned, leads teams in successfully conducting project-related activities, training, and events.
-Plans, prepares and review scopes of work, deliverables, and schedules for short-term consultants.
Qualifications
-A minimum of five years experience working in complex development programs with focus in health or development
-Strong interpersonal skills: Ability to work well in diverse environments, and to inspire trust and buy-in from community stakeholders and beneficiaries.
-A degree in health, social science, or a related field
-Familiarly with health issues in West Bank and Gaza
-Excellent writing and communication skills in English and Arabic.
- Knowledge/experience in health information systems, hospital management, or procurement preferred.
