Program Officer
Job Description
The USAID-funded Palestinian Health Sector Development and Reform Project (Flagship) is seeking to fill one-year positions for a Program Officer and Health Information System Medical Advisor. Job duties are listed herein:
Program Officer.
The principal duties and responsibilities include:
-Support the DCOP for Technical Programs in coordinating all technical programmatic aspects of the program.
-In coordination with technical staff, lead the development and oversight of the implementation
plan and program activities ensuring that programmatic work is fully reflected in the work plan.
-Support the management of short-term consultants and partner contribution to technical activities, including developing scopes of work and level of effort.
-Support coordination with the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders including assisting with monthly technical meetings.
-Facilitate internal strategic coordination between the components, the Ministry of Health, selected NGOs, other donors and projects.
-Contribute to the development of programs work plans, action plans as well as progress reports.
Required Qualifications and/or Equivalent Experience include:
-A minimum of 5 to 7 years experience working complex development programs with health or development.
-Familiarity with USAID rules and regulations as well as understanding of the management of health programs is important.
-Excellent management and organization skills.
-Excellent English verbal and writing skills.
-Ability to make independent decisions and work as a team player.
-Flexible and adaptable to change.
-Ability to use Microsoft applications such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
