Job Description
Right To Play is an international humanitarian organization that uses sport and play programs to
improve health, develop life skills, and foster peace for children and communities in the most
disadvantaged areas of the world. Working in both the humanitarian and development context, Right
To Play trains local community leaders as Coaches to deliver our programs in more than 20 countries affected by war, poverty, and disease in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
Right To Play is now seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Program Officer for the sport
and play program to be based in it’s office in Ramallah.
Title: Program Officer
Based: Ramallah
Starting Date: 1st February 2011
The primary responsibility of the training officer is to support the development and implementation of Right To Play’s resources and training programs. Responsibilities include:
-Ability to strategize, coordinate, follow up and monitor the program implementation.
-Follow up with staff (WB and Gaza) on project implementation.
-Assist in creation of networks, communication with international / local organizations.
-Promotion of Sport for Development and Peace with local partners in the West Bank.
-Undertake field visits, as needed, to support country office and regional strategic communications
and mobilization of work.
-Adherence to Project Plan/Action Plans.
-Report writing.
Required qualifications:
-BA degree and Masters is preferable in a relevant field (development studies, education, management)
-Previous experience in Program Management.
-Commitment to a community-led process of development
-At least 5 years experience working with NGO’s grassroots.
-Knowledge of training skills.
-Good networking skills and resourceful.
-Effective report writing skills.
-Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
-Ability to work under pressure.
-Solid team player, creative, and motivated.
-Ability to move between project sights.
-Comprehensive computer skills.
-Driving licence is an asset.
Salary will be based upon qualifications and experience. Applicants should submit their CV to
